Peterson Tops List of Five Best Cornerbacks A.J. Green Has Faced
If there was ever a doubt about how good Patrick Peterson is, well it wouldn't be coming from an NFL wide receiver.
A.J. Green wrote a phenomenal article for The Players Tribune talking about the five best cornerbacks he has faced in his life.
At the top of Green's list is Patrick Peterson.
From the article:
“This is not a sight you want to see when you walk to the line: A guy who’s 6′ 1″, 215, and can run a 4.3. Straight off the bat, you know that Pat isn’t going to let you have the Go ball.”
Peterson's combination of size and athleticism is what makes him a unique player, but Green sited one more thing that makes Peterson so special:
“But it’s more than just his size and straight-line speed that makes him great. The thing with Pat is how he’s able to stop and start. With a lot of bigger corners, you can get an advantage on them by exploiting their agility.”
Peterson has been one of the best corners in the NFL since he stepped on the field, but what he is asked to do, to matchup with the other teams best player, has made some sites, like Pro Football Focus, overlook what he does week in and week out.
Well if there was ever a doubt, Green did a nice job of shutting that down.
